Saturday competition
Saturday saw the Captain's Trophy being played with
a 4BBB Stableford being the format. The big winners on the day were Shane Cooke & Rob Stanley who returned a very
impressive 47 points. Stanley took the back seat ride in the cab as Cooke unleashed unsurpassed shotmaking with
deft touch around the greens thrown in for good measure.
Runners-up on the day were the husband/wife combination of Peter & Carolyn Williams who also returned 47 points.
Third place went to Tony Woolridge and Anna Winterbourn on 46 points.
The rundown included Bruce Otto/Larry Muller 46, Peter Fox/Russell Ashby 45, John Roser/John Dodds 45, Kelvin
Stephens/Kevin Duffy 44, Gav Milne/Peter Krause 44 and Graham Scott/Ron Little 44.
Pin shots wet to Larry Muller on 10, Gav Milne on 13 and Dean Kercher on 16.
Highlight of the week had to go to Gav Milne who aced the 13th hole in Saturday's comp round. The ball teetered on
the edge of the hole and did not finally drop until the group had just arrived at the edge of the green. I'm sure
the grin on Gav's face will last for a long time to come.

Thursday club
With showers persisting through last week and the run taken out of the fairways, scoring was a little higher in
this week's competitions.
John Dodds took out the win in the Men's Thursday Club event after returning 19 points in the 9 hole comp.
Runner-up was Dave O'Connor on 18 points from Mal Carter, Shane Cooke 17 points and completing the rundown on 16
points were Steve Mitchel, Peter Browning, Tony Woolridge, Wayne Temby, Stacey Hadlow, Karl Woolzak and Paul
Joice.
With an extra spring in his step and unheralded will and determination, it was a spritely Ron Little who found
himself atop the leaderboard after completion of the Men's 18 hole event. His round of 39 points was just 1 shot
ahead of runner-up Shane Cooke on 38 points.
The rundown included Don Stafford 37 points, Peter Fox, Harry Gellatly 36 points and completing the rundown on 35
points was Steve Mitchell, Dave O'Connor and Stacey Hadlow.
Pin shots went to Ron Little on 10, Bill Woods on 13 and Dean Kercher on 16.
