Weekly Roundup - November 13, 2006

Thursday Club:
With the course continuing to dry out, low scoring is becoming the common trend and last Thursday's 9 hole event proved this. Don Hope played well to win the comp with a solid 28 net by one shot from Nigel Ralph on 29. The foursome of Albert Pini, Bob Croker, Don Moore and Tom Fleming were just behind on 31.
The 18 hole match was a lot tighter at the top of the page but the captain prevailed in a countback. Ray Plant shot an 'excitement-free' round of even par 71 for a net 64. Mark Russell was also on 64 net grabbing second place from Bob Croker also on 64. Peter Hull was satisfied with third place, on 65 net along with Peter Scrivens on 65 as well.
Bob Croker grabbed a pin shot, as did Brad Albertson, Ray Plant and Rob Stanley.

Saturday:
Brian Smith Constructions along with Whitsunday Hearing put on the spread of prizes for Saturday's Fourball Best Ball event. Jill Farinelli showed Mark Richards a thing or two as they teamed brilliantly to win the day on a countback with a sizzling 53 points. Al Graham was happy to watch as team mate Steve Mitchell blazed his best ever score to shoot 53 points aswell, basically on his own with Al getting on the card just twice.
Dave Danes and Gus Ogilvie were just one shot off the pace on 52 points while Gary Scotford and Ray Plant tied for fourth with Terry Roach and Steve Fahey.
Pin Shots went to Greg Walker, Don Stafford, Benn Ryan, Kelvin Stephens, Pascal Neunreuther and Mark Trims.

This Weekend:
The AGM will be held Saturday morning at 10am, just before the daily competition gets under way. All members are invited to attend. The comp for the day will be a single stroke event. Nominations from 11am for an 11:45 hit off
