Weekly Roundup - November 6, 2006

Thursday Club:
The course was torn apart last Thursday with excellent scoring across the board. Al Graham held on to win the 9 hole event on a countback from Graham Scott, both on 27 points. Jack Dobbins had a spring in his step after a great 26 points getting him third place, just ahead of Peter Browning on 25.
Peter continued that form in the 18 hole competition, shooting a once-in-a-lifetime score of 48 points. Absolutely brilliant! Luchie Gardel would have been gutted to find out his awesome 45 points was some 3 shots off the pace, but it was good enough for second place. Bruce Munro also played well, shooting 44 points to grab third ahead of another 6 players on 42 points.
It would appear we need more bunkers and water hazards!
Pin shots went to Rob Stanley, Ian Powell, George Gnezdiloff and Tom Fleming.
Saturday:
The November Monthly Medal was held on Saturday which was the final chance for players to qualify for the Medal of Medals Final on the 9th of next month. Jason Evans left no stone unturned in his quest to be there on the big day, shooting a 59 nett. Jason won the overall mug and C Grade medal with the best nett score recorded on a Saturday for the year. Warren Deighton was runner-up for C Grade. Dave O'Connor made the final with a last gasp 64 net, winning the A Grade medal from the in form Rob Stanley. Justin Connors will contest the final as well after scoring a 64 net, holding Bill Foot in second place on 68.  Pin shots went to Steve Mitchell, Ken McCallum, Kevin Duffy, Ron Jamieson, Lance Lloyd and Bill Foot.
