Last Thursday Andrew Colborne won with a great score of 63 from Steve Mitchell on 66. Pat Neal with 30 won the 9-hole comp from Peter Hull on 31. Pins went to Peter Scrivens, Ian Powell, Les Bradford and Peter Hull.
The McDowall’s Panel Works Proserpine Open Mixed competition was taken out by Maxine Cotter and Lloyd Kingston after a playoff with Larry and Lyn Muller. Both had 77 off the stick. The nett winners were Roseanne Apps and Neil Taylor with 65 from Chris Gates and Lyn Linklater on 66.5.
The Metropole Hotel/ Caltex Proserpine Men’s Open on Sunday saw Michael Dunn win with a 1-over par 108. Simon Dobbins came 3rd overall with a fantastic 110 including an expensive visit to the burnt paddock on 14. He won the A-1 division by 3 shots from an in-form Larry Muller. Chris Bailey came second in the B-grade by one shot and Bruce Marshall came second in the C-grade. Jim Cochrane won the C-grade nett by half a shot from Benn Ryan. Simon Dobbins, Larry Muller and Chris Bailey also featured in the pin shots. With over 100 players on each of Saturday and Sunday, the sponsors should be proud of their involvement.
This Saturday sees the Metropole Monthly Medal.
