Justin Connors and simon dobins led the way in the nine hole competition played by the juniors on Friday afternoon. Caitlin Daly is greatly improved to improve her handicap and win the b division, well done caitlin. Tayla Jeffries took second place in b division.
FRIDAY CHOOK RUN
tREVOR nOSWORTHY TOOK OUT THE WINNING PLACE IN THE 9 HOLE STROKE COMPETITION PLAYED LAST WEEK. Lance Lloyd came in second and Ross McNeill won the card draw.
DAWNBUSTERS
pAUL gRACE WAS THE WINNER OF THE NINE HOLE COMPETITION PLAYED BY THE dAWNIES ON SUNDAY.
He had a 52 gross, 36 nett score and was followed closely by Don Schuring with 52 gross, 36 nett. Graeme Stoodly was third with 57 gross, 37 nett. Brad Albertson and Paul Grace won the pinshots, Ian Bishop had the least number of putts and Jim Evans was the snake putter. David Thomas must be golfed out after playing in the 27 hole Mixed Foursome championship on Saturday and decided the Bradman's would do this week.
2007 Proserpine Ladies Golf Open Competition.
Proserpine Golf Club welcomed 77 players to compete in the Ladies Open on Friday 3rd August. Participants came from Collinsville, Home Hill, Ayr, Bowen, Mackay and Pioneer Valley. We also hosted players who are here to play in the Veterans Wintersun competition. With an overcast day it was perfect for playing the 18-hole stroke and puts competition. Clair Douglas from Collinsville won the Open with a gross of 80. Clair has now set a new course record. Congratulations to our visitor for her wonderful round of golf. Our own ladies played well with some taking home some of the winning prizes. Marlene Gray was B2 Grade Gross runner-up with 96. B1 Grade was won by Roseanne Apps with 88 and also won her grade putting competition with 26 puts. Caroline Awdry is back in form, following shoulder surgery at the beginning of this year. Caroline was B1 Grade Net winner with 75. Viv Demartini is continuing her winning style taking the C Grade Gross with 105. NTP's went to Ann Gardel and Sue Hansen.
2007 Mixed Foursomes Open Championships
66 players took to the fairways to play a 27-hole Mixed Foursomes Competition on Saturday 4th August. The pairs of players came from across our region as well as those who have travelled to participate in the Veterans Wintersun Golfing Competitions. The Gross Winners were local players Karen Oni and Justin Connors with 120. The Gross Runners-up were Desley & Rob Bartels-Heaney with 121. The net winners were also locals, Lyn & Larry Muller with 102. Net Runners-up, also locals were Peter & Reh Hull with 105. NTP on 2nd went to Viv Demartini & Bruce Munroe, on 9th Rob & Desley Bartels-Heaney, 13th Jill Farenelli & Mark Richards, 16th Brian & Jan Annan
