Proserpine Ladies Golf
The rain and inclement weather on August 15th prevented our Ladies playing their usual round of Wednesday. There are two major club competitions being held. The Ladies Club Foursomes is a 27-hole event and will be played on Sunday 26th August with a hit off time of 9am. The Ladies Club Championships will be played the following week on Sunday 2nd September. Again a hit off time at 9am and this will also be a 27-hole event. Ladies please note that there will be a meeting of the lady members of the club after the regular round of golf on Wednesday 5th September. Jason Evans did well to beat the field on Friday with 23 stableford points, Sam Gardel came in second on a countback from Jason and Steve Fahey was third with 22 stableford points. Chris Stokes was present when his card was drawn so we start again next week.
JUNIORS
Most of the field played 7 holes on Friday with Justin, Simon,Brad and Hayden completing the full nine holes. Chris Elms, Justin Connors and Caitlin Daly won balls in the rundown, Please stay for the presentation, kids, if you were the winner wouldn't you like the other kids to be present to see you presented with a prize? Good luck for the Bowen and colinsville opens.Don't forget coaching on Tuesdays at 3.30 sharp.
DaWNBUSTERS
Tim McBride was the winner of the competition played by the Dawnies on Sunday. He had a 47 gross/ 33 nett with Peter Skelton not far behind in second place with 57 gross/ 35 nett. Jill Ford did for the ladies coming in third with 64 gross/ 38 nett. John Albertson and Jack Spruce won the pinshots ,. Tom Fleming had the least number of putts , Graeme Stoodley won the Bradmans and Beryl Nosworthy is back in the competition after her holiday winning the snake putters prize. See you all at the Father Day 2 ball ambrose on Sunday 19 August teeing off at 7am and breakfast at the Watsons after playing number 11
WHITSUNDAY GOLF CLUB
RESULTS 12th August, 2007
This week the club played a versus-par competition and the results are as follows:
Once again, all three grades were won on a count-back.
A-grade winner was Mal Carter on +2 from Tony Rees.
B-grade winner was Ernie Holstein on +6 from Kim Hill.
C-grade winner was Ron Chant on +3 from Joel Garner.
Darren Crossley and Beck McPherson won the longest drives.
Darren Crossley, Kim Hill and Darren Williams won the nearest pin prizes.
After golf, the AGM was held and the following people were elected.
