Just when we thought that scoring had returned to some normality Peter Fox decided to go on a scoring safari around the Proserpine layout. His 27 nett easily won hime the 9 hole comp from runner-up Geoff Rees on 29 nett. On 30 nett were Glen Jones, Peter Scrivens, Bruce Munro and Kelvin Stephens while Daniel Jackson and Darren Williams returned with 31 nett. Peter Fox continued his winning form, taking out the 18 hole comp with 59 nett. Putting on the bridesmaid dress for the second time for the day was runner-up Geoff Rees on 61 nett. Bernie Malcolm finished with 62 nett, Wayne Temby and Pascal Neunreuther had nett 65 while on 66 nett was Glen Jones, Al Graham, Bruce Munro, Albert Pini, Brian Smith and Tim McBride. Pins went to John Simpkins on 2, Bruce Munro on 9, Michael Ward on 13 and Russell Reardon on 16.
The week-long Chook Run was won by Tom Flemming with a very impressive 25 nett. Card draw will jackpot for this week.
On Friday evening members and partners enjoyed a cocktail party which also saw some additional prizes and trophies awarded. A-Grade Matchplay Champion for 2009 was Trevor Osborne, B-Grade Matchplay Champion was Chris Bailey, Medal of Medals Champion for 2009 was Brendon Russell and Rob Stanley was announced as The Golfer of the Year for 2009.
Saturdays Turkey Day saw most of the players let their hair down for a casual 3 ball Ambrose event. Blitzing the field by almost 5 shots were the team of Rob Stanley, Stuart & Marnie Win with a nett score of 51 5/6 from runners-up Ken McCallum, Murray Lee and Tony Osborne on nett 56 1/6. Pins went to Larry Muller on 9, Alison Day on 13 and Gary Scotford on 16.
Thursday and Saturday comps will continue through the xmas holidays. This Saturdays comp will tee-off from 6.30am, or register and tee-off from Midday.
