Thursday Club:
Chris Gates made a welcome return to the course last Thursday and brought some good form with him. Chris shot a 28 net, winning the 9 hole event by two shots from Allan Scott on 30 net with Bill Rogers and Ron Little in the rundown.
Don Hope had to rely on a countback going in his favour to win the 18 hole comp. His 64 net got the job done just in front of Kelvin Stephens, also on 64. Ron Little and Ray Plant were next best on 65 net with Adam Stroud and Bill Woods in the rundown on 69.
Pin Shots went to Mark Trims, Bill Woods and Albert Pini.
Saturday:
A single stroke was the format last Saturday and it proved to be a tough day with blustery conditions keeping the scoring very honest. New member, Darren Jones held it together to post 67 net, winning on a countback from Justin Connors. Another new comer, Daniel Jackson was just one shot back on 68 while Rob Stanley and Kelvin Stephens both carded a 69 net.
Pin Shots went to Don Stafford, Gary Scotford, Rod Wecker, Neil Taylor and Ray Plant.
This Saturday:
Saturday will be a single stableford, proudly sponsored by the Airlie Beach Hotel. Nominations from 11am for an 11:30 tee off.
Friday Chook Run
Herb Hamilton triumphed over the small field of sixteen to take out this weeks chook run with a 28 nett. Ron Jamieson and Lance Lloyd filled the minor placings, both scoring 30 nett. The card draw jackpotted this week when Fin Forbes' card was drawn and he was not present. The chook Run can be played any day of week and it culminates on Friday afternoon. The competition is open to both members and social golfers, so to join in on the fun inquire at the pro-shop when next you're at the course.
Dawnbusters
Twenty-one Dawnies played on Sunday with John Albertson winning the comp from Alan Greedy and Bruce Upchurch. Paul Grace and Tim McBride won the pinshots on hole number 2 and 9. Mike Albertson was the snake putter, John Albertson had the least number of putts and Beryl Nosworthy won the Bradman's prize.
