Last Thursday saw Albert Pini with net 62 win from Greg Walker on 66 and lots on 67. In the 9-hole comp, Kelvin Stephens won with 31 from Ray Plant, Peter Elms and Dave Lawrey on 32. Pins went to Russell Reardon, John Simpkins, Brad Albertson and Norm Rasmussen.
Last Saturday a great Rob and Julie Baxter’s ambrose in aid of the Flying Doctors was won by Brad Albertson, Bernie Malcolm and Tony Sellwood from the teams of Wayne Russell, Rob Stanley and Chris Anderson and Geoff Rees, Mike George and Bruce Otto. Pins went to the teams of Lance Lloyd, Ken Todd, Mick Leo, Reh Hull, Darren Gunn and Wayne Russell..
This Saturday from 10.30am sees the Ron Drew Memorial Ambrose open to all players.
Proserpine Ladies Golf
It was a lovely day and enjoyed by all out on the course with extra run on the fairways after the rain. The ladies were playing for the Margaret Cunningham Trophy.
The competition was a Stableford event with a good win by Marlene Gray on 36pts; runner-up was Tracey Duncan with 35pts.
There were some great NTP’s won by Shirley Newell on the 6th; Viv Demartini on the 9th; Reh Hull on the 10th and Tracey on the 13th.For any ladies interested in playing please join us at 9am every Wednesday for a 9.30am tee off.
Dawnbusters
Punkin’ Fraser was the winner of the Dawnies Sunday morning competition this week with a 58 gross/ 27 nett. Don Schuring was runnerup with 48 gross/ 29 nett and Allan Ford, our NZ visitor came third with 44 gross/ 31 nett. Allan also won the pinshot on no 2. Frank Keenan won the pinshot on no 9 and Maurie Moody was the snake putter this week. Al Greedy was ‘Happy”with a win in the chip off to take out the least number of putts for the competition. Lance was the Bradmans winner.
Friday Chook Run
The Friday Chook Run is still happening at the Golf Club. It is a nine hole competition played on the back nine and alternates between a stroke and stableford Anyone can play any day during the week with a minimum of two players and can play as many times a week as a player wishes to pay. Handicaps are allotted by the starter and change once a week. Sounds fun – ask Kelvin Stephens and James Carmen, they were the winner and runnerup last week. The card draw didn’t go off so jackpots – see you out there playing the Friday chook Run anytime during the week!!!
