Steve Mitchell took out the 18-hole prize with an excellent nett 60 points from Luchie Gardel and Albert Pini on 64. Then came Don Hope, Barry MacKenzie and Bill Woods. The 9-hole winner was Bill Foot on 30 from Barry MacKenzie also on 30 and Rod Wecker on 31.

The post-AGM competition had 56 players on Saturday and Gavin Milne won on a count-back from Steve Abel on 44 stableford points. Luchie Gardel, Ken Todd and Simon Dobbins closely followed. Pins went to Ken who was very close to a hole in one, Luchie, Rob Stanley, Dave O’connor and Mark Bell.
In the open match-play final, Rod Wecker overcome a determined Lance Lloyd to win a close match, and Albert Pini called on his many years of experience to edge out Norm Ryan to be the C-grade match-play champion.
This Saturday will be a single stableford sponsored by the Whitsunday Coast Guardian. A Calcutta will be held on Saturday for the medal-of-medals on Dec 1.
FRIDAY CHOOK RUN
Ross McNeil made a long awaited return to the winners circle, taking out the chook run with 23 stableford points, just pipping Gary Scotford on 22 points. Berryl Nosworthy won the card draw. A reminder to members and visitors that people can play in the chook run any day of the week and you don't even need a handicap, just ask at the pro shop.
DAWNBUSTERS
The Dawnies traveled to Melaleuca Golf course in Andergrove to contest this week's event. Everyone blamed the bus overheating as to why there were so many rest stops during the trip. When interviewed bus driver Des said "No comment" and would not confirm these allegations. Aaron Warren proved he travels well hitting 42 off the stick for a 22 nett, winning comfortably from Allan Scott and John Albertson on 25 nett. Larry Muller and Gary Flannery won the two nearest to the pin shots up for grabs. Donald Schuring had the least amount of putts. Having more hits than the Beatles was Billy O'Shea who received the Bradmans.
