Results Saturday 18/8/2007
Saturday was the August monthly medal and we had some great scores on the day.
In A grade Larry Muller had the best round of the day with a nett score of 63 next best was Gavin Milne with nett 66.
B grade saw Matt Goldman fight it out with Neil Taylor finally winning by one shot with a nett 66.
In a hotly contested C grade the in form Kelvin Stephens won on a countback from James Carmen, both scoring a nett of 66.
Juniors
The winners of the 9 hole competition played by the juniors on Friday were: Kieran shaw, Joe Wecker.Mat bluck, Caitlin Daly and Ashley Bellingham.
Friday Chook Run
The winner of the 9 hole stroke competition played on Friday was Kennie Todd with a 39 gross, 24 nett score. Second was Chris Connors with 27 nett and third was Beryl Nosworthy 28 nett. Ron Jamieson was the card draw winner. The Chook run is played each week on the back nine and all standards of golfers are welcome to play.
SATURDAY
Ladies
Saturday's monthly medal Colour Me Crazy winner was Jill Farinelli on 68 net from runner up Katherine Borer. Beryl Nosworthy won the Putting Competition with 29 putts and Ann Gardel won the longest drive on No 7.
Sunday
Father Gard Ex Service's Club saw a large field of 72 compete in a 2 ball ambrose. The Dawnies and the Whitsunday Golfers joined forces with other early morning club members to raise funds for A Smile for a Child. The highlight of the morning was the cooked breakfast provided by the Watson's beside No 11. Winners on the day were Kerry Hall and J Garner on a countback from Jamie Day and Matt Bonny. Nearest the pin on 13 was Stephanie Nuske-Neal,.No 6 Trevor Nosworthy and BennRyan and nearest the Keg on 18 Norm Rasmussen. Raffle winners were Jennifer Turner from Tasmania, Jack spruce and Peter Fraser. A large run down of prizes were awarded to lucky card draws.
Proserpine Ladies Golf
The rain and inclement weather on August 15th prevented our Ladies playing their usual round of Wednesday. There are two major club competitions being held. The Ladies Club Foursomes is a 27-hole event and will be played on Sunday 26th August with a hit off time of 9am. The Ladies Club Championships will be played the following week on Sunday 2nd September. Again a hit off time at 9am and this will also be a 27-hole event. Ladies please note that there will be a meeting of the lady members of the club after the regular round of golf on Wednesday 5th September.
