After Thursdays round veteran golfer John Grosskreutz looked like a man that dropped a dollar down a drain and found a fifty dollar bill. After spending countless hours on the driving range this week it all came together for the sweet swinging Grosskreutz. Johns' score of 29 points easily won him the 9 hole Thursday comp from runner-up Ernie Holstein and third place Russell Reardon, both finishing on 24 points. Finishing on 23 points were Dave Williams, Albert Pini and Michael Kavanagh while Dave Gates, Rod Wecker, Alan Scott and Kym Hill completed the rundown with 22 points. The 18 hole results have returned back to some form of normality with Josh Bleys winning with 43 points. Runner-up on countback was Bill Rogers from Michael Ward, both having a respectable 41 points. Rounding out the 18 hole comp were Geoff Rees and Steve Mitchell, both on 40 points. Pins went to Greg Walker on 2, Peter Browning on 9, Dave Boase on 13 and Pascal Neunreuther on 16. The week long Chook Run attracted 24 players this week. Dean Kercher was the happy winner after the coin toss which separated him from runner-up Brad Albertson, both finishing with 22 points for the comp. Third place went to Chris Doblo on 21 points. Card draw was Dave Telford who was not present which means that this Friday the card draw will be a carton of beer. It may have been hot on Saturday, but not as scorching hot as some of the scores that were returned for the Versus Par event. King of the castle and winning on Saturday was the ever-consistent Albert Pini who won on a countback from junior golfer Matthew Bluck after they both finished on +8 for the event. With the ball rundown only going to +7 it was a sure sign of the quality of play on Saturday afternoon. All finishing on +7 were Brian Smith, Gav Milne, Pascal Neunreuther, Dave Gordon and Troy Smith. Pins went to Glen Jones on 5, Rob Stanley on 9, Greg Walker on 13 and Brian Smith on 16. This Saturday will be a Single Stableford event with those wanting to beat the heat invited to tee off from 6.30am or register and tee off from Midday.
