Proserpine Ladies Golf
Hot and dry conditions made for a scorcher of a round last Wednesday.
A Versus Par competition was played and the overall winner was Tessa Aitken with a blistering +6. A very close second was Margaret Cunningham with a fine +5, followed by Vivienne Demartini +4 and Karla Brendl, Tracey Duncan and Mary Taylor finishing on +2.
The NTP’s were won by Bernice Peterson on the 9th and 13th, Kathryn Borer and Beryl Miller on the 16th.

The Thursday competition went to Pascal Neunreuther with 65 net from Ron Jamieson and Don Hope on 66. The 9-hole event also went to Pascal on 31 from Ron Jamieson also on 31. Greg Walker and Herb Secomb had 32. Rob Stanley, Albert Pini and Pascal Neunreuther won the pins.
The Whitsunday Coast Guardian single event on Saturday saw some great scores and Bob Platt with 44 points won by a point from Greg Walker and Bruce Otto. Pins went to Chris Massey, Jim Cochrane and Joe Taylor.
A Calcutta will be held after Saturday’s single stroke event for the medal of medals the following weekend. All A,B,and C winners from last December onward will have about 500 good reasons to win that event which is also the final contributor to the points for golfer of the year which will be announced that day.
Dawnbusters
Larry Muller was the winner of the 9 hole sunday morning competition played by the Dawnies this week. He had a 34 gross/ 28 nett score with runnerup winner Bruce Upchurch having to chip off with Bill O'Shea as both had a 30 nett score. Larry also won both pinshots and also had the least number of putts for the competition. Al Greedy was the snake putter and Huggie was the Bradman's prize winner but he also had to chip off with George stevenson for the title, So was a very exciting competition for the Dawnies this week.
