Allan Ford won the Dawnies Sunday competition this week with 46gross/32 nett in a three way chip off with runnerup Peter Skelton ( 54 gross/32 nett) and George Stevenson who had 44 gross/ 32 nett.
Brad Albertson won the pinshot on number 13 and George Stevenson won it on number 16. George was also the snake putter, Tom Fleming had the least number of putts and Frank Keeran won the Bradman’s prize.
Friday Chook Run
Ross McNeill won the Chook Run stableford competition played at the club last week with 24 stableford points. Beryl Nosworthy was runnerup. The card draw jackpotted again this week.
Last Thursday saw Wayne Russell with net 43 points win from James Carman on 42 and John Grosskreutz on 41. In the 9-hole comp, young John Catling won with 23 from Jason Evans, George Gnezdiloff and Maurie Moody on 22. Pins went to Jason Evans, Peter Hull, Geoff Rees and Harry Smith.
Last Saturday the Ron Drew Memorial Ambrose resulted in the team of Alec Bragg and Terry and Derek Brown having a narrow win over Darren Gunn, Kym Hill and Brad Bowring. . Third was Troy and Brian Smith and Kieren Price. Pins went to Alec Bragg, Wayne Russell and Stu Win. Charity also won on the day thanks to The Council, Airlie Beach Hotel, Coral Seas Resort, Fantasea and Elders Proserpine.
This Saturday will see a single stroke and the 27 holes club mixed foursomes will take place on Sunday from 10.00am.
