The Thursday Club 9 hole comp was proof that age is no barrier when it comes to golf whith three of the first four spots bieng claimed by gentelmen in there 80's. The first of the 80 club was George Gnezdiloff with an outstanding 26 points a clear 3 points ahead of nearest rival and fellow 80 club partner John Catling on 23. John won the toss to take out second spot ahead of Mich Kavanagh on 23 and the third and baby of the 80 cubers Alan Greedy on 22 was in fourth spot. Kerry Hall, Alan Scott, Al Graham, Andrew Colborne and Ernie Holstein all got a ball in the rundown. The 18 hole comp was taken out by the ever consistent Pascal Neunreuther with 44 points. Al Graham 42 points was the runner up again this week and is playing well the handicaper has been kind to Al but surley this must cost him a shot or two. Bill Woods and those 80 clubers again John Catling and George Gnezdiloff all on 40 points. The pin shots for the day where lucky shot Rob Stanley on 2, Sam Gardel won 9, Bill Rogers on 13 and Steve Wallis on 16. The Chook Run this week was a stableford event and the winner for the week was Don Stafford with 22 points a clear 5 points ahead of the next best. The luck card draw was won by Bruce Upchurch who wasn't present to collect his prize so there will be a carton and one six pack up for grabs at 5.30 Friday afternoon. Members and social golfers are reminded that the Chook Run is a weekly comp and you can enter any day of the week at a cost of $5 for members $12 for non members so come and join in this social comp. Saturday Anne Gardel showed the boy's up on Saturday afternoon as she was the winner of a countback against Gary Scotford and Gave Milne who all finished on 41 points. Don Stafford,Chris Bridger,Karl Gottschalk and Bill Woods all featured in the rundown. The pin shots went to Bill Woods on 2, Glen Jones on 9, Trevor Osborne on 13 and Pascal Neunreuther on 16. This Saturday will be a Single Stableford for a club trophy and can be played at anytime during the day, so if you would like to beat the heat and tee off at 6-30am organise a group and give us a call. 11-30 for 12 hitoff as normal. Sunday 1st of November will be a coaching clinic 8.30am for the adults and 9.30 for juniors all are welcome cost $10 for adults. Get your team for the anual Father Gard Memorial Day 2 ball ambrose on Sunday the 8th of November, tee off will be between 7am and 10am. Also a reminder for all outstanding memberships you only have this week to pay your discounted fees.
