Weekly Roundup - 29 October, 2007

DAWNBUSTERS
If the Thomas's are being consistent David Thomas should pick up the bradmans next week. Consistency not being in his bag Mr. Thomas tussled his way to a victory winning on a countback from Donald Schrung with 31 nett. Beryl Nosworthy rounded out the placings with a 35 nett. Brad Albertson had his eye in grabbing both the nearest to the pin shots on #2 and #9. Angry Alan Greedy had reason to be cranky being handed the bradmans. Jack spruce won the snake putter, while Pascal for the second week in a row got the least number of putts. Pascal still has his putter for sale so see the pro shop if you require a solid putter.
CHOOK RUN
With a field of 17 taking to the course for this week's chook run Ron Jamieson triumphed with a 33 nett. Neville Fleming was runner-up with 35 nett and Beryl Nosworthy took out third place with 36 nett. Sam Gardel won the card draw but wasn't present to collect the prize, so it jackpots next week.
JUNIORS
While the pennant teams were making their way to Ayr and Home Hill, the remaining juniors played a nine hole competition on the front nine.  Phillip Walker, Hayden Emmerson and Tayla Jeffries won balls in the rundown. Don't forget juniors your membership fees are due this month, see Brenda

.The Macrossan & Amiet sponsored Junior Fireballs performed very well in the north Qld Pennants at Ayr and Home Hill on the weekend. In Divison1 our team took on the best in NQ from Townsville Mackay and Rowes Bay and went very close to taking it out. After beating both Townsville and Rowes Bay the team came up against a very strong Mackay team and at one stage had a very good lead but unfortunately we just went down in the last few holes to end up second. The team of Justin Connors, Karen Oni, Simon Dobbins, Tiernan Campbell O'Brien and Brodie Lane all played well and were a credit to the club and the coaches. In the Division 2 which was played on a handicap basis we lost all of our matchers 3/2 but came away with a new experience for some of our new AGU 18 hole players. The team consisted of Chris Elms, Josh Laughton, Kate Collins and Mat Bluck. It was a first time experience in the 18 hole events for both Mat and Kate and they did well. Chris lead the team well with three wins and it won't be long before Josh is back to his winning ways. The nine hole team also performed well win two their matches and just going down to eventual winners Rowes Bay. There was plenty of excitement in the team at just being involved in the championships. With wins over Home Hill and Ayr the team looked a big chance but Rowes Bay proved too strong getting up 3/2. The team consisted of Jordan Leo, Josh Laughton, Perry Mussarad, Kieran Shaw and Sarah Collins. It certainly shows that the Proserpine Club is more than capable of holding their own in any competition.  We now only have the end of year break up before we take a break.
