Proserpine Veteran Golfers
33 vets played the competition on Tuesday 23 September.
Winner of 18 hole competition was m Taylor with 63 nett, runnerup was D Hope with 69 nett. B Mortimer, C Hughes, J Grosskreutz, M Cotterill, A Pini and R reardon won balls in the rundown. The pinshots were won by B Mortimer and A Winterbourn.
The nine hoe competition was won by M Taylor with 30 nett, runnerup was M Cotterill with 35 nett. B Mortimer, R Reardon, A Greedy, N Helman, A Pini , M Cunningham, N O’neill and J Catling won balls in the rundown. A Greedy and M Angledal won the pinshots.
Dawnbusters
Beryl Nosworthy was playing well on Sunday to win with 30 nett on a countback from Jock Anderson. She also took out the pinshot on number 13.
Jock played a 48 gross/ 30 nett round. John Albertson won the pinshot on number 16, Peter Skelton was the snake putter, Brad Albertson had the least number of putts and Huggie won the Bradman’s prize with a gross that any Dawnie would be proud of.
Thursday 18/9 saw Norm Rasmussen win the 18 comp with 45 points from Sam Gardel on 43. Kerry Hall won the 9-hole comp with 26 from Kerry Hill on 25.
Last Thursday Brendan Russell won with a great score of net 61 from Sam Gardel on 63.
Saturday 20 saw the team of Andrew Colborne, Bruce Marshall and Mat Goldman win the Hospital charity 3-person ambrose with 60 off the stick and Mat scored a very handy hole in one.
The Airlie Beach Hotel single stableford last Saturday was taken out by Lance Lloyd on 40 from Rob Stanley on 39 and Steve Mitchell on 38.
The A-grade pennant team returned still in division 2 after a very successful three-from-three debut by Simon Dobbins and final-hole heroics from Justin Connors to keep the dream alive of a long awaited return to division 1 next year in Proserpine.
This Saturday will see the Metropole monthly medal.
Proserpine Ladies Golf
Two clubs and a putter made for an interesting round of golf being played for the Caroline Awdry Trophy Day.
It was a challenging round with Caroline Awdry winning the day but
her trophy went to Reh Hull as the overall winner. Runner-up was Mary Taylor followed by Ann Gardel; Tessa Aitken; Margaret Angledal and Viv Demartini.
NTP’s went to Reh Hull on the 6th and 9th; Tiny Emmerson on the 13th and Mary Taylor on the 16th.
