Weekly Rounup - 3 December, 2007
FRIDAY CHOOK RUN
There were 24 players in the Chook Run last week and the winner was Trish McNeill with 23 stableford points.  First time player Rob Baxter was runnerup also with 23 stableford points. Adam Stroud, Elspeth Scotford and Lanc Lloyd won ball sin the rundown. Rod Wecker was not present for the carddraw so it jacpotted to this week.
JUNIOR
The juniors played a nine hole competition on Friday and the ball winners were Chris Elms and Mat Bluck. Please note juniors the bbq and game with parents advertised for 7 December has been cancelled.  Due to the Cricket 7 Golf Day on Friday there will be no junior golf on 7th, see you on Tuesday.
DAWNBUSTERS
The out going President of the Dawnies, Bruce Upchurch had the weight off his shoulders to play consistent golf and win the monthly medal with a fine 33 nett. Both Donald Schuring and George Stevenson shot 34 nett to fill the minor placing. Norm Rasmussen and Angry Alan Greedy both got nearest to the pins on #13 and #16. Tony selwood, who has spent a lengthy period out of the scene was reminded how easy it is to get the snake award. Billy O'shea pops up again this week with the bradmans, while Jaccy Thomas got her first ever birdie in golf, draining a monster putt on #13.Congratulations Jaccy.
Thursday Club
John Grosskreutz had a par round to take out the 18-hole prize with a net 63 on a count-back from David Gates and the evergreen George Gnezdiloff  who almost shot his age off the stick. Andrew McKay and the consistent Don Hope followed. James Carman with a net 27 won the 9-hole competition from Simon Dobbins, Chris Bailey, David Gates and George Gnezdiloff. Pins went to Simon, Michael Leo and Steve Mitchell.
The Thursday Club summer solstice drinks are on Dec 20.
Weekend.
The Metropole monthly medal competition had 53 players on Saturday and Mark Richards won the day and the C-grade medal with a net 66. Josh Laughton was runner-up in C-grade with a 67. Trevor Nosworthy had a very expensive three-put on the last hole to take out the A-grade medal with a net 66 from Rob Stanley who shot a par round and a new course record since the impressive new tees were in play on Saturday. Chris Connors also with 66 beat Ron Jamieson on a count-back to take the B-grade medal. Pins went to Lloyd Kingston, Troy Smith, Norm Ryan, Ray Plant, Russel Reardon and Rob.
The medal-of-medals final went to Mark by the narrowest of margins from Chris and Trevor. Jill and Neil picked up a handy Calcutta purse.
Adam Stroud narrowly took out the B-grade match-play final from Mat Goldman.
This Saturday will be a club day with the Turkey Day on the 15th.
