Proserpine Veteran Golfers
19 Vets played the front nine on Tuesday 30 Sept. they were joines by 9 other vets to complete the 18 holes.
Winner of 18 hole competition was T Woolridge on a count back with B Cowan with 70 nett. G Rees, H Secomb, B Mortimer and A McKay won balls in the rundown. The pinshots were won by M Cotterill and T Emmerson.
The 9 hle competition was won by T Woolridge with 32 nett. A Day was the runnerup with 34 nett. L Johns, M Cotterill, B Simpson, B Cowan, H Secomb, G Ress, D Hope, H Longhurst, L Bradford, S Angledal and T Emmerson all won balls in the rundown.
The nearest to the pins were won by G Rees and M Taylor.
Thursday saw Gary Carter win the 18 comp with 47 points from Rob Stanley on 46. Rob shot a 6-under par 65 which is the best score since the 7th tee has been moved back. Norm Ryan and Joe Taylor had 45. Peter Scriven won the 9-hole comp with 25 from Gary Carter, Rob Stanley, Ron Jamieson and Don Hope on 24. Pins went to Rob Stanley, Peter Lewis and Rod Wecker.
Saturday’s Metropole monthly medal saw Kelvin Stephens win on a countback from Lewis Tairaki with a net 64. Gavin Milne on 66 beat Larry Muller by a shot to take the A-grade while Steve Abel beat Rod Wecker on a countback with 66 to win the B grade medal. Pins went to Jim Cochrane, Simon Dobbins, Barry Mortimer, Kelvin Stephens and Mat Bluck.
This Saturday will see the Ugly Ducklings event with $1000 in prizes from 11.30.
Proserpine Ladies Golf
Last Wednesday was another glorious day for the Monthly Medal Trophy.
Lyn Muller was the star of the day shooting a fantastic 64nett to win!
Lyn was on fire and could do no wrong with 3 chip ins to win the Least Putts total of 25.
Caroline Awdry had a fine round with a 67nett to win runner-up.
Third place was Roseanne Apps on a count back with 69nett and Vivienne Demartini 4th 69nett.
NTP’s went to Bernice Petersen on the 2nd; Caroline Awdry 7th; Tessa Aitken 9th & 16th Marlene Gray on the 13th and Lyn Muller on the 18th.
A reminder to all that the AGM will be held after the game on Wednesday 22nd October.
