Al Greedy conquered his Thursday Club demons, stepping on top of the podium, taking out the 9 hole comp with a very impressive 26 points. Runner-up was Norm Rasmussen on 25 points from K. Wolzak, Peter Lewis and Pascal Neunreuther, all on 23 points. Rounding out the rundown on 22 points were Bernie Malcolm, Rob Stanley, Peter Scrivens, Dave Gates and Ron Jamieson. In the 18 hole comp John Grosskreutz got the better of John Dodds in the countback after they both finished with 44 points. The rundown included Rob Stanley and Pascal Neunreuther, both on 43 points and Andrew McKay got last ball on 41 points.
Pins went to Rob Stanley on 2, Pascal Neunreuther got both 9 and 13 while John Grosskreutz was on 16.
The Chook Run attracted 19 golfers this week with better than average scores returned by most players. The big winner for the week was Beryl Nosworthy with 29 points from runners-up Gav Noonan and Sam Benny, both on 22 points.
Saturday saw 47 golfers compete in the December Monthly Medal which was run in conjuction with the final for the 2009 Medal of Medals. Dave O'Connor won the A-Grade Medal with 66 nett from runner-up Pascal Neunreuther on 67 nett. B-Grade Medal went to Don Stafford on nett 65 from runner-up Lance Lloyd on 66 nett and Brendon Russell won both the C-Grade Medal and is the 2009 Medal of Medals Champion for 2009. Rundown included Chris Doblo on 64 nett, Mark Richard 65 nett and Gary Scotford and Albert Pini both on 67 nett. Pins went to Larry Muller on 9, Pascal Neunreuther on 13 and Warren Deighton on 16.
Members are reminded that this Friday 11th Dec is the Members + Partners Cocktail Party which will be at the Golf Club from 6.30pm - 8.30pm. Announced on the night will be the Matchplay winners for the year and the Golfer Of The Year. Dress for the evening is smart casual.
