Dawnbusters
Twenty Dawnies played a nine hole competition on Sunday with Graeme Stoodley coming in with 32 nett to win from Garry Flanney on 36 nett and Peter skeleton on 39 nett. Michael Leo won the pinshot on Number 13 and Tim McBride won the shot on number 16. Peter skeleton also was the snake putter for the competition, tim McBride had the least number of putts and Larry Mengel won the Bradman's prize.
Whitsunday Golf Club
The WGC played their 18 hole August monthly cup on Sunday and the A grade winner was Jim McGaffin with 66 nett on a countback from Tom Maaka. The B grade winner was Ernie Holstein who alson won on a countback from Dean Kercher with 61 nett. The pinshots were won by Dean Kercher on number 2, P. Harris on number 13,and Mick Cooper on number 16. The longest drive for the men was won by Jim McGaffin and Anita Benny for the ladies. The snake putter this week was Tessa Aitken.
Friday Chook Run
The winner this week for the stableford competition played on the back nine was Adam Stroud with 28 stableford points. Runnerup was Andy Turner with 24 stableford points, Terry Brown was third with 23 stableford points. Beryl Nosworthy, Kerry Hall and Don Hope all won a ball in the rundown.
Juniors
Twenty-four juniors played the Friday competition this week and Jordon Leo, Lindsay emmerson and simon Dobbins won balls in division l, Keiran Shaw and Hayden Emmerson in division ll and Phillip Hart in Division lll. Well done to all the winners in the Collinsville and Bowen Opens played on the week-end.
Ladies
The Wednesday ladies played a stableford with Lyn Muller winning on 36 stableford points on a countback from Viv Demartini. Beryl Nosworthy came third with 35 stableford points. Lyn had a good day, winning both pinshots on 2 and 9 and Marlene Gray won the shot on number 13. The Proserpine Ladies 4 some Championship was played on Saturday. Congratulations go to Di Dobbins and Marietta Smith who teamed up to win the gross competition with 94 points. Ellen Crook and Bernice Petersen won the nett with 76 points. Jill McGrath and Caroline Awdry were the gross runners up and Lyn Muller and Viv Demartini teamed up the win the nett runnerup prize. The pinshots were won by Ellen and Bernice on number 9, Marlene and Tiny on number 13 and Lyn and Viv on number 16. 
Thursday Club:
The 9 hole comp was a tightly contested affair with Mark Russell prevailing by one shot on 29 nett. Albert Pini and Steve Mitchell played well to take second and third places respectively on 30 points. Ron Jamieson and John Catling were in the rundown on 33.   George Gnezdiloff showed off his talent with a solid 63 nett to win the 18 hole event by one shot from Steve Mitchell on 64. Bill Woods, Albert Pini and Russell Reardon were close behind on 67.
     Pin Shots went to Albert Pini, Pat Neal, D. Jordan and Ray Plant.
Saturday Single Comp:
     A small field of 11 players contested the single event on Saturday afternoon with Don Moore getting the prize with a solid 61 nett. Gary Scotford and Cade Braynt filled the minor placings on 67 and 68 netts.
Mens Foursomes Championship:
      A good field showed up to fight out the 2006 Mens Foursomes over 27 holes. The competition was fierce and the scoring reflected this but the all-conquering team of Larry Muller and Ray Plant got their act together to snag the win by one shot. Their score of six over 113 was just good enough to take out this prestigious event from the  'experienced' team of Steve Abel and Bill Woods on 114. Steve and Bill however were the winners of the nett  event with a score of 99. The nett runner-ups were previous champions Matt Goldman and Troy Smith on101. The gross runner-ups were John Grosskreutz and Lew Tuck on 117.  Pin Shots went to the teams of Ryan/Jamieson, Drake/Findlay, Pini/Taylor, Woods/Abel, Pascal/Hull, Grosskreutz/Tuck.Next Week:
Next Saturday will be the Club Mixed Foursomes Championship over 27 holes with nominations from 10am for a 10:30 tee off. An 18 hole single stableford event will be held from 12pm.
