Weekly Roundup - October 2, 2006

Thursday Club:

The Great Dane came out firing last Thursday, shooting a solid 31 net to take out the 9 hole event by one shot in a tightly contested affair. Dave did well to hold out ex-pro Les Bradford on 32 with Don Moore and Phil Glindeman all sharing the same score.    Dave Gates showed a return to form to win the 18 hole event with a personal best of 90 shots resulting in a 62 net. Les Bradford was at it again, just behind on 63 while James Carman showed his talents on 66.     Pin Shots went to Bill Foot, Nigel Ralph, Rod Wecker and George Gnezdiloff.

Saturday:

A reasonable field showed up to play the single stroke event last Saturday. The weather was perfect and the scoring reflected that with 2 players shooting fantastic scores of 60 net. Stuart Win and Kelvin Stephens tied at the top but Stuart got the nod on a countback of the last 9 holes, to win overall. Both players lost a couple of shots from their handicap and look to continue that trend to get into next year’s pennant teams. Ron Jamieson played well also with a great 62 net, two shots ahead of Neil Taylor on 64 and Rod Wecker another shot back on 65. Peter Lewis and Gus Ogilvie were solid on 66. Caroline Awdry was the best for the ladies with a great 67 net.

Pin Shots were won by Caroline Awdry, Dave Forrest, Pascal Neunreuther, Adam Stroud and Peter Lewis.
