Dawnbusters
The Dawnies played in Bowen this weekend while the Open was happening at the Prossy course and the winner of the competition was Arthur Marriot with 58 gross/34 nett score. The runnerup was Lisa Schrung with a 60 gross/ 38 nett, Tom Fleming was third on a coin toss with Allan Ford. The pinshots were won by George Stevenson, Larry Mengel and Bruce Upchurch. Norm Rasmussen was the snake putter, Paul Grace had the least number of putts and Al Scott and Paul Skelton shared the Bradman's.
Whitsunday Golf Club
The WGC played at Halliday Bay this weekend with Ron Little winning on 52nett, E Fawlton was the runnerup with 54 nett, Matt Benny and Peter Browning won balls in the rundown with 55 and 60 nett. The nearest to the pins were won by jim Benny on no 6, Mick Cooper on no 3 and Darren Crossley on no 2.
Friday chook Run
Don Hope was the winner of the 9 hole stroke competition played on the back nine last week. He had a creditable 22 nett, second was Joel McBride with 28 nett. Mick Dibben and Trish McNeill won balls in the rundown. Unfortunately Hamish Vickermann was not present when his card was drawn for the prize, it will jackpot again this week.
Juniors
There was a good rollup for the 9 hole competition on Friday. Brad Riley, Matthew Bluck, Joel Warren and Troy Baillie all finished their 9 holes with Brad winning division 1 and Mat coming in second. Joel Warren came in third in divison 11 and Troy Baillie won division lll. The coaching on Tuesday is paying off with Prossy Juniors taking out lots of places in the competitions played away from home. Thanks to our coach Rob McConnell and Frank and Nigel who train the juniors every Tuesday from 3.30pm, beginners are welcome.
Ladies
The Wednesday ladies played a stroke and putts for the September Monthly Medal on Wednesday. The winner was Viv Demartini with 74 nett, on a countback from Lyn Muller. Reh Hull was third with 76 nett on a countback from Marlene Gray. The pinshots were won by Tiny Emmerson and Lyn Muller and Marlene won the prize for the least number of putts.
