A Grade Pennants:
Our A Grade Pennant Team headed north to Ingham last weekend to do battle for the 3rd division flag. All players performed brilliantly, winning both our ties on Saturday against Home Hill by 6 wins and a halved match out of 9 and North West Queensland team from Mount Isa by with 6 wins. Ayr also won both their ties on Saturday but had a halved match advantage at the end of day 1 with a total of 13 wins. That made for a tussle of epic proportions for the Sunday morning. We went out all guns blazing and managed to tie Ayr with 4 wins and a halved match each. Unfortunately Ayr had that halved match lead from Saturday which gave them enough to take the flag and progress to division 2 next year. All players represented Proserpine superbly with no thrashings received but a few handed out by our boys. Both Mark Trims and Ray Plant won all 3 of their matches but Mark had the better overall winning margin, therefore winning the Player’s Player for the year. There’s always next year!
