Proserpine Veteran Golfers
23 vets played the back nine and were jined by 9 others to complete the 18 hole comp on Tuesday 7 October.
Winner of the 18 hole competition was E Philpott with 39 stableford points, runnerup was H Shipsey with 37 stableford points. J Alberston,M Angledal, A Day, C Hughes, C Awdry, M George and B Mortmimer won balls in the rundown. The pinshots were won by b Woods and M Taylor.
The 9 hole competition was won by m Dunne with 22 stableford points, E Philpott was runnerup with 21 stableford points. C Awdry, H Shipsey, R Hull, m Angledal, B Mortimer, L Johns, B Woods, N Helman, C Hughes, M Taylor, M George and A Winterbourn won balls in the rundown. L Johns and R Hull won the nearest to the pin prizes.
Dawnbusters
Gary Flannery was the winner of the Dawnies Sunday morning competition this week with a 45 gross/ 29 nett score. Runnerup with 52 gross/ 31 nett was Peter Skelton who won on a chip off with Jim Evans. Jimm was the snake putter for the round.
Beryl Nosworthy won the pinshot on no 13 and the Bradmans prize. Paul Skelton had a birdie on no 16 to win the pinshot and Arthur Marriot had the least number of putts for the morning with 15 putts for 9 holes. A reminder to the Dawnies that the Father Gard Day will be played on 2 November and everyone is welcome.
Thursday saw Mike Ward win the 18 comp with net 64 from Peter Lewis, Mike Philipp and Russell Reardon 65. Herb Secomb won the 9-hole comp with 29 net from Rod Wecker on the same score. Al Graham was a further shot back. Pins went to Russell Reardon, Albert Pini, Joe Taylor and Peter Lewis.
Saturday’s Ugly Ducklings event was won in fine style by Kelvin Stephens and Ken Marshall with 50 points from Don Hope and Mick Dibben on 49. Dylan and Mike were third, also on 49. Pins went to Peter Lewis, Benn Ryan, Troy Dobbins and Ken Marshall.
This Saturday will see the Caltex Proserpine single stableford with over $400 in prizes from 11.30. Later tee offs are an option by arrangement.
