The Metropole Hotel Monthly Medal on Saturday saw Mathew Goldman take the mug with a 65 net with Darren Gunn the B-grade runner up. Lloyd Kingston won A-grade from Justin Connors, and Bernie Malcolm took out C-grade from James Carman.
The Caltex Thursday competition went to Daniel Jackson with a great net 59 from Bernie Malcolm on 62 and Bill Rogers on 63. The 9-hole event went to Bill Rogers with net 30 from Rod Wecker and Jason Evans.
This weekend’s event will be the Opening Day on Saturday with Patron Bill Rogers sponsoring the single stableford competition.
Proserpine Ladies Golf

The ladies played for the April Monthly Medal on Saturday 5th April.  The winner was Robin Biggs with Kathryn Borer runner-up.  The NTP was Marlene Gray on the 9th and Bessie Simpson won the putting competition with 29 putts. Robin also collected a voucher for “Colour Me Crazy” donated by Jill Farinelli. Ladies Saturday competition have a draw at 12md with hit off at 12.30pm

Seven of the regular players of the Proserpine Ladies Golf celebrate their Birthday this month. To help these ladies into another year, there was a lunch held after the round of golf on April 2nd.  The lunch was enjoyed with the Ladies recounting many stories of their golf. The round of golf played was a Versus Par competition that was won by Robin Biggs with a ‘plus 5’. Congratulations Robin.  Runner up was Alison Day on a count-back from Marlene Gray with ‘minus 1’.  The NTP’s went to Margaret Cunningham on 6th; Alison Day on 9th; Marlene Gray on 13th; Kathryn Borer on 16th. The Ladies Golf on Wednesday has a draw at 9am with a 9.30am hit off.  Wednesday 16th will be a single stroke competition and the trophy will be donated by Alison Day.

Junior

The juniors are on one week holiday at present, there will be no golf this week.

Last week the beginner juniors were coached by Frank Goodfellow in the Indoor Training Facility while Rob McConnell was away.
The nine hole competition played on Friday was won by Simon Dobbins. Juniors are asked to stay for presentation on Friday

afternoon. We will try to have it done as soon after 5pm as is possible.

The Townsville 3 day event will be played this weekend, good luck to our representatives.

Dawnbusters

The Dawnies Sunday compettion was won by Peter Skelton this week with 59gross/32 nett score.
Runnerup was Jack Spruce with 54 gross/36 nett followed by Maurie Moody back from his op with 58 gross/37 nett.
Noone wone the pinshot on 2 and our mate Huggie won the pinshot on 9. Jim Evans was the snake putter, Peter Skelton had the least

number of putts and new member Trevor Beard won the Bradmans.
